Horses graduating from our Western All-Around Horse Academy will gain skills, training and familiarity associated with the following six points:
- Hunting Season (i.e. ridden in mountain topography, crossing rivers, snow, steep and rocky terrain, packing, leading in pack strings, rifles, ridden in the dark, hunting camps; elk, bear, moose, antelope, deer, etc.)
- Summer Horseback Vacations and Fishing Trips (i.e. cross-country rides, hobbling, high mountain terrain and wide-open plains, lakes, river and stream crossing, antelope, deer, coyotes, game birds, pack strings, etc.)
- General Ranch Work (i.e. opening gates and corral work, sorting, penning, and trailing cattle, roping, riding fence, wrangling horses, etc.)
- Mounted Shooting Courses (i.e. running patterns, shooting balloons (blanks), reining, holding gaits and leads, etc.)
- Reenactments (i.e. gunfire (blanks), cavalry formation drills and military maneuvers, bareback riding, etc.)
- Arena Work (i.e. ground manners, reining, lead and gait changes, standing, backing, stopping, etc.)
